Job summary
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Worldwide Financial Services team is looking for an experienced Financial Services Industry Specialist to join our fast-paced team and help drive AWS adoption in the South East United States (US). As a Financial Services Industry Specialist for the US you will have the opportunity to be part of a team focused on increasing technology adoption of cloud computing by engaging with C-level executives and influencers at all levels. You will work closely with teams across AWS to build relationships with financial institutions of all sizes across all market segments, from FinTech startups to the largest banks, insurers, broker-dealers and exchange groups in the world. You will own further establishing AWS as the leader in Financial Services in the South East US.
Your responsibilities will include helping to drive top line revenue growth and overall end-customer adoption across the Financial Services industry in the South East US. You will enable AWS Financial Services field teams across all sales segments in the South East US to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key prospects and customers. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Security, and Compliance to develop and promote cloud best-practices in areas such as data security and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid enterprise adoption.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong business development and Financial Services background, with significant experience in the South East US. The candidate should have demonstrated experience engaging senior-level executives in past roles, and a credible understanding of the overall Financial Services landscape. You will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to drive tactical execution of sales and business development goals.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the Financial Services Specialist Organization in helping to drive AWS marketing, sales, and technical strategies for the financial services industry
• Identify key financial services customers, and identify industry partners including ISVs/solution providers and system integrators
• Create business development plans for identified opportunities and ensure these plans are in line with the AWS strategic direction
• Develop industry-specific messaging and collateral materials that effectively communicate the AWS value proposition for enterprise cloud computing, including datacenter-to-cloud extension and migration.
• Execute strategic business development plans while working closely with internal stakeholders including sales teams, solution architects, professional services and support teams, legal and contract teams, and the AWS service teams
• Create “top of funnel” pipeline opportunities by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers
• Understand the unique technical requirements of financial services customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for our largest and most complex customers
• Understand and exploit the use of Salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems for campaign tracking and pipeline management
• Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new enterprise customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

15+ years in Sales, demand generation or Financial Services market segment in business development.
5+ years experience with cloud computing platforms and value drivers in the financial services industry- capital markets, banking, insurance and or payments market segments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in creating strategic plans and team building.
MBA and or finance degree is preferred

In this role, you will build and lead a data-driven global IDE strategy for the Sales & Marketing organization (World Wide Public Sector Sales, World Wide Commercial Sales and Business Development, AWS Marketing and World Wide Revenue Operations). We are seeking a world-class IDE leader with the ability to lead a team, to drive IDE internally and externally through customer engagement, learning, advancement, and culture enablement programs across the Sales & Marketing organization.
This role will bring together IDE leaders and program managers aligned to the Sales & Marketing businesses, and key stakeholders to drive IDE programs that align to a broader AWS global IDE strategy. You will also be responsible for the results of those programs and the impact they have on the business. This work will include managing the Sales & Marketing IDE budget and headcount. This role will partner across HR processes, diversity recruiting work streams, customer enablement, and other internal initiatives that focus on building a culture of inclusion and equity. This role will leverage internal IDE products to develop business leaders on the topic of IDE, and drive culture transformation initiatives. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs as you implement the strategy and align resources. You will report on the outcomes of all our work and strive to provide transparency and accountability across the organization for all of these initiatives.

The primary job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the team of IDE leaders and program managers.
  • Develop and implement the global IDE strategy for Sales & Marketing. This includes communicating and consulting on objectives and targets, developing and implementing programs, and supporting communication and reporting of the plan and program status to goals.
  • Manage the IDE budget and headcount and align the team to the AWS IDE goals and strategy.
  • Leverage internal and external IDE products to develop the business on the topic of IDE, and drive culture transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with and advise Sales & Marketing leaders, IDE project leaders, and Inclusion Ambassadors worldwide across multiple functional groups.
  • Implement existing AWS Global IDE programs and design and implement Sales & Marketing business specific programs.
  • Develop communication for stakeholders at levels up to the senior executive level and out to the entire Sales & Marketing organization.
  • Train and facilitate small and large groups on the topic of IDE, and present on these topics in front of large audiences.
  • Advocate for IDE topics within the business, evangelize the importance of inclusion, equity and diversity, and advocate for global marginalized communities in the industry.
  • Provide executive coaching on the topic of IDE to Sales & Marketing leadership.
    Successful candidates will have experience leading IDE across multiple global organizations with numerous stakeholders up to the senior executive level. You must have experience driving meaningful action, be data- and detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You will be asked to operate effectively in an ambiguous environment, and must have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple concurrent projects and driving them to completion. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have:

  • 15+ years of experience working in a business function or HR
